Award, 2023 launch for Nexen Roadian HTX 2
The Nexen Roadian HTX 2 is an awardee at the iF Design Awards 2023, having gained an accolade in the product design category. This honour for the HTX 2 precedes the tyre’s launch in European markets, which will take place during the course of this year. The HTX 2 will apparently complement the existing HTX range at first, however Nexen Tire has not yet released details about the launch range.
The iF International Forum Design GmbH, based in Hannover, Germany, is the oldest independent design organisation and annually bestows the iF Design Award on the best design results. Around 11,000 entries from 56 countries competed fiercely for the award, which was chosen by a panel of 133 judges comprised of experts from each country.
Commenting on its award-winning tyre, Nexen Tire says the Roadian HTX 2 is a SUV/LT tyre that “improves snow traction and mileage performance” when compared to competitive products. Nexen adds that the tyre improves tread grip and handling performance even in snowy conditions thanks to traction-increasing 3D sipe technology, while the cooling pin design used on the shoulder block effectively releases heat generated during driving, increasing tyre durability even in high-speed driving environments and allowing for more stable driving.
Sidewall decoration differs on each side of the tyre, giving customers the “option to install sidewall designs that suit their preferences.”
