6 models: Prinx debuts range for Europe
Targeting Generation Z and Millennial drivers, Prinx Chengshan has officially launched its flagship Prinx brand in European markets. The range was specifically developed for our region and includes a launch line-up of six tyre models that, according to the manufacturer, “cover all requirement types in the passenger car and SUV segment” and are suitable for both ICE and electric vehicles. Prinx tyres are available for wholesale from spring 2023.
The current Prinx range features the following products:
• Quattura 4S, an all-weather tyre for the passenger car/SUV high-performance segment, for 14- to 20-inch rim diameters.
• Aquila Pro, high-performance summer tyre for passenger cars and SUVs, 14- to 19-inch rim diameters.
• Aquila Rev, ultra-high performance summer tyres for passenger cars and SUVs, 17- to 22-inch rim diameters.
• Winter Excelia, a winter tyre for passenger cars and SUVs, 14- to 19-inch rim diameters.
• XLAB, a comfort-focused EV summer tyre for full-electric and hybrid passenger cars and SUVs, available in 34 dimensions.
• XNEX Sport, an EV summer tyre for full-electric and hybrid cars and SUVs, available in 35 dimensions.
With 69 SKUs specifically aimed at EVs, Prinx expresses pride in a range that is almost unrivalled in terms of scale from the very outset. “The requirements for vehicles with alternative motors differ greatly from those for conventional tyres,” comments Thomas Wohlgemuth, Prinx Chengshan’s chief executive officer for Europe. “We can fall back here on the numerous years of experience in development and practice within our parent company. The competitive edge of the Chinese market in this case gives us a real advantage.”
Prinx Chengshan was founded in China in 1976 and is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The company shares that the launch of a tyre brand focusing on sustainability is the “systematic continuation” of the sustainability campaign it has pursued for years.
Most Prinx tyres are manufactured in a state-of-the-art production plant in Thailand that opened in 2020. According to Prinx Chengshan, the technology it utilises in Thailand saves up to 40 per cent energy in the production process. It adds that all tyres comply with the highest technical standards, are certified and are tested in Europe for quality assurance.
