Toyo Tires participating in endurance races at Nürburgring
Toyo Tire Corporation is partnering with Ring Racing to participate in the Nürburgring 24 Hours (The ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring), which will take place from 18-21 May 2023, and the Nürburgring Endurance Series (Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie), a year-long series competition that is to open on 17 March 2023.
Takayuki Kinoshita who was appointed as the Proxes brand ambassador this January, will join the team as one of the drivers for 2023 seasons. Toyo Tire will provide its Proxes Slicks (with special specifications for Nürburgring), a racing tyre developed exclusively for Toyota GR Supra GT4, in a bid to win the championship in the SP10 class of the 2023 races.
Brand ambassador Takayuki Kinoshita has achieved podium finishes at numerous major races in Japan, including the All Japan Touring Car Championships, Super GT, and the Super Taikyu Series.
Having participated in many international races, Kinoshita was placed 5th overall – the highest among Japanese drivers – in the 2004 Nürburgring 24 Hours. He has participated in this endurance race a total of 26 times, which made him the most participated Japanese driver.
While remaining active as a racing driver, Kinoshita is also involved in a wide range of activities as a motor journalist, serving on the selection committee for Car of the Year Japan and writing as a columnist.
Located in Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, Nürburgring is a 25-km-long circuit featuring the Grand Prix track (approximately 5 km) and the Nordschleife (approximately 20 km). The North Nordschleife, in particular, is known for numerous challenges for drivers, including a 300m elevation change and more than 170 corners.
