Prinx Chengshan: Intelligent manufacturing the basis of future success
China-based tyre manufacturer Prinx Chengshan is in the process of expanding in the wider Asia-Pacific area, having revamped its four major brands Prinx, Chengshan, Austone and Fortune for 2023.
That revamp was achieved by “relying on the company’s national-level enterprise technology innovation centre and new energy collaborative research centre”, Prinx Chengshan reports, adding that it has “vigorously conducted cutting-edge tyre technology research, created an international standard new product matrix, and achieved fruitful results.”
Specifically, Prinx Chengshan’s intelligent production base in Thailand was put into operation in 2020, with the second phase of the project following in 2022.
In terms of production and research and development (R&D), Prinx Chengshan reports that it continues to increase R&D investment and has “successfully established a basic research system with independent intellectual property rights”. The company also reports that it has “established a design and simulation integrated platform, realizing design automation and intelligent performance prediction, which can provide adequate technical support for product development in different world regions”.
Internationalised production development
The result is a new product line-up across both the passenger car radial (PCR) and truck and bus radial (TBR) sectors and across all four brands, all of which was exhibited at the recent Tyrexpo event in Singapore.
Regarding PCR, Prinx Chengshan showcased a full range of SUVs and off-road vehicle tyres in the HT, AT, RT and MT sub-segments as well as high-end sports tyres. Prinx, the tyremaker’s “premium and youthful brand”, not only exhibited its new high-performance products, but UHP products are set to be launched in the European market soon.
Furthermore, the new Xnex Sport EV tyre designed for intelligent and electric vehicles was on-show. The latter comes with “Silenteck” noise reduction technology and a “velvet sidewall” design, signalling the product-quality emphasis made by the tyremaker.
As far as truck and bus fitments are concerned, the Singapore exhibition saw the company showcase tyres designed for the complex road conditions in Southeast Asia. To that end, Prinx launched a series of products designed and developed specifically for this region, considering different application scenarios. These include FH123 for long-distance steering position and T121 for drive position, which reportedly have excellent performance characteristics and are both strongly wear-resistant as well as offer high load-bearing capacity. AR603 is the representative of Prinx’s “new generation metric tyre product for regional transportation”. The T327A is designed for mixed road conditions in mining areas and can reportedly meet the demands of “mining area+good road conditions”.
Prinx Chengshan’s full steel OTR (off-the-road) ET01 product also made its debut at the exhibition.
“We have brought the new Prinx EV and OTR series, which will bring a completely new experience to the (Asia-Pacific) market and better meet customers’ multiple needs,” said Chu Xiaohua, general manager Of Prinx Chengshan International Sales Center.
Chua Xiaohua, general manager of Prinx Chengshan International Sales Center, is confident of compayn’s development plans for the global market: “With the help of production in Thailand, we will accelerate our layout in the Asia-Pacific market. Based on our accumulated production, manufacturing, and R&D strengths, we will better position ourselves in the market and create more ultimate product power. We will make more consumers choose Prinx Chengshan tyres, leading Prinx Chengshan to the forefront of the world.”
