New Polestar 2 BST 270 sports Pirelli tyres
Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, tweeted a teaser video of the company’s upgraded BST 270 on 16 March. Details are scant ahead of the official launch of the latest performance-oriented Polestar 2 on 21 March, but it certainly looks like the 2023 model year edition of the Polestar 2 BST 270. What we do know something we do know about is the tyres.
Polestar, which is the performance brand of Swedish car brand Volvo, which itself owned by Chinese carmaker Geely, describes the new BST 270 as “an expertly tuned, handling-focused, limited-edition Polestar 2, created to push the boundaries of electric performance.” This means 476 horsepower of propulsion and 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
To keep that kind of power on the road, the latest version of the Polestar 2 BST 270 we know about sported 21-inch forged aluminium wheels fitted with 245/35 R21 Pirelli P Zero tyres. Continuing the Pirelli theme, the more recent teaser video makes a point of finishing with the Pirelli logo at high-noon at the top of the wheel arch.
However, Pirelli aren’t the only tyres on Polestar vehicles. Judging by promotional pictures of the range, Swedish brand has a history of fitting Michelin tyres as OE and – looking further forward – the 2024 model year Polestar 2 can be seen on 245/40 R20 Continental SportContact 6 tyres.
