Matrax gives SUV and car tyres Asian debut, EV tyres coming
March’s Tyrexpo Asia exhibition gave Portuguese-based Grupo Alves Bandeira the opportunity to showcase the company’s Matrax for the first time in Asia. The Matrax stand featured a comprehensive range of the brand’s portfolio incorporating SUV, 4×4, and ultra-high performance car tyres as well as truck tyre products.
The Matrax SUV range focuses on the Veragua SX which is geared at highway-oriented vehicles ranging from cross-overs to more traditional 4x4s. In addition, the company makes a Veragua SV all-season option for the international market. And then there’s the Veragua A/T and M/T for those venturing into all-terrain and mud-terrain environments respectively. The SX and the SV come in a range of 15-to-20-inch sizes.
The Matrax tyre range will be further extended during the course of this year with the addition of 50 further size options within the passenger car segment along with extra sizes in the SUV sector. So far the truck tyre range has concentrated on increased mileage performance, but in the future more rugged patterns will be developed by the Matrax engineering team. At the same time, RV tyres will be introduced during the course of 2023 and Electric Vehicle (EV) tyres will make their debut in the range next year.
Andre Bandeira, managing director of Grupo Andres Bandeira commented: “Being at the show gave us the chance to take the growth of the Matrax brand into Asia in style and we were surprised by the impressive reaction from visitors to our range. We have been exhibiting at the Tyrexpo Asia shows as Grupo Alves Bandeira for the past ten years but on this occasion our stand was totally dedicated to Matrax. I also felt that the quality of visitors to our stand was outstanding and amounted to many international existing partners and a great deal of potential new buyers for the future. Not just from Asia but all over the world including the Middle East and Africa.”
Bandeira concluded: “Matrax tyres are currently available in over 50 countries as part of our ultimate objective of global recognition for the brand. So, making a substantial impact in Asia at the show represents the next step forward in our ambitious aim for Matrax.”
