Hella’s Neil Grant becomes Automotive 30% Club member
Hella’s UK managing director, Neil Grant, has become a Silver Member of the Automotive 30% Club, a voluntary network of automotive executives.
“I believe that the greater the level of diversity within a team, the greater the variety of ideas and strategies that will be generated,” Grant explains. “In an industry that is changing rapidly, it is vitally important that we are able to attract the best people and that we have the most diverse pool of talent to select from. I am therefore a huge advocate of the Automotive 30% Club and look forward to playing an active part in improving gender equality within the industry, for the greater good of everyone.”
The Automotive 30% Club is a voluntary network of MDs and CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) from UK-based automotive manufacturing, retailing and supplier companies. The network was founded by Julia Muir, CEO of Gaia Innovation Ltd, with the purpose of achieving what it believes to be a better gender balance within the automotive industry and with the aim of filling at least 30 per cent of key leadership positions in the member organisations with women by 2030 through a “30 by 30” strategy. The network’s 30 per cent target is to set a direction of travel to enable progress to be measured, something that it believes is essential.
In becoming a Silver Member, Grant and his UK team have demonstrated they share this enthusiasm to change the gender balance in the sector, to improve the image of the industry and make the workplace an equitable environment by removing unconscious bias and obstacles that prevent talented women progressing up the career ladder.
“I’m very pleased to welcome Neil Grant to the Automotive 30% Club as a Silver Member,” said Julie Muir. “Hella is the international supplier of automotive lighting and electronics to OEMs and the aftermarket. We have a growing number of aftermarket leaders in the Club and Neil’s contribution and advocacy will be extremely valuable.
