Giti becomes official tyre partner of BK Mladá Boleslav
Giti Tire’s support for European ice hockey has been enhanced with its sponsorship of top-flight Czech Republic team, BK Mladá Boleslav. The brand will become the team’s official tyre partner, with its logo on advertising boards and players pants. It will include several VIP events, which the company will use for distribution and sales partners. The new deal will enhance Giti’s involvement in the Champions Hockey League, for which the manufacturer’s GT Radial brand is the official tyre partner.
BK Mladá Boleslav play in the premier Tipsport Extraliga league, which consists of 14 teams, with seasons running from September to March. The team are community driven with around 300 children aged 5-20 in youth teams and the U17s and U20s competing at the highest level in the country.
Stefan Brohs, marketing director – Europe for Giti Tire, said: “Ice hockey is the biggest sport in the Czech Republic and the Tipsport Extraliga league gets great crowds and significant coverage on TV, online, print and radio.
“Becoming Official Tyre partner of BK Mladá Boleslav made complete sense because, apart from being one of the best teams in the league and regular CHL contenders, it’ll also allow us to build on our great relationship and messaging to the local and national community.”
A spokesperson for the club added: “The new cooperation with Giti Tire is very important for us because the combination of BK Mladá Boleslav and Giti Tire proves that our club is attractive for partners who are active in international hockey.
“In recent years our club has participated twice in the Champions League, where Giti Tire acts as a partner for the entire competition. We believe that our cooperation will be long term and beneficial for both parties.”
In October, Giti Tire announced that the GT Radial brand would remain as the Official Tyre Partner of the Champions Hockey League (CHL) for a second season.
Giti Tire said it would use its association with European ice hockey to boost awareness across Europe, especially northern, central, and eastern countries where the game is a national sport.
