GB Tyres confirms ongoing support of Black Country Foodbank
When it came to selecting a charity to work with in 2023 and beyond, GB Tyres had a few essential requirements in mind. The West Midlands-based supplier, who since its establishment in 2013 has become one of the fastest growing importers and exporters of vehicle tyres in Europe, sought a charity with roots in the local area whose work genuinely supports people in need of support, an organisation that is pro-active and enthusiastic about forming local partnerships.
“We quickly realised that Black Country Foodbank ticked all of the boxes for us, they are making a real difference to people needing a bit of help in the Black Country area,” comment the directors at GB Tyres. “We were also given confidence that our partnership and frequent contributions would make a real difference.
“We are extremely proud to be a small part of the work the Black Country Foodbank does and be able to associate our business with such a worthy cause.”
Thanking the tyre distributor for helping it provide emergency food and toiletry parcels for vulnerable individuals and families in crisis, the Black Country Foodbank shares: “The services we provide have an enormous impact on the people who use them, giving them an important breathing space at a time of great need. Last year we fed over 36,000 people, with almost 14,000 of them being children.”
3 areas of support
The charity categorises its support into three areas. Love: It helps anybody who needs support, young, old, single, or families from all backgrounds and beliefs. Connect: All food and toiletry donations come from local churches, schools, individuals and corporate donors. Through donations, local organisations can play a huge part in directly helping those in need. Invest: A lot of volunteers invest their time to make the project a success. Approximately 30+ volunteers help to run the central warehouse, with another 100 + volunteers across 27 Distribution Centres.
GB Tyres will be making regular donations to the Black Country Foodbank on a long-term basis and supporting efforts In raising awareness of the excellent work being done, and the support that is needed.
