Auto Bild tyre test: Double victory for Goodyear
Auto Bild has published the second-round results of its size 225/45 R18 summer 2023 tyre test. Well, sort of. We know where each of the 20 finalists finished and have gained insights into overall performance in wet and dry conditions, as well as their value for money. But the motoring publication is keeping its readers in suspense regarding scores for individual tests and will make these known in good time.
Established premium brands dominate the top spots of most tyre tests, as best-in-class performance typically has its price. Auto Bild’s latest test is no exception. But the inclusion of overall cost as a main factor (20% of the total result – performance in wet and dry conditions each contribute 40%) gives other tyre brands the opportunity to demonstrate a convincing price-performance ratio. This is particularly important in times when money is a little on the tight side.
The winner of this year’s Auto Bild summer tyre test is the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, a tyre that not only impressed the publication’s test team in wet and dry conditions, its purchase price and mileage potential ensured a second victory as economy champion.
