Vredestein expands Quatrac Pro all-season UHP tyre range
Apollo Tyres is adding 17 new 18-21” fitments to its Vredestein Quatrac Pro ultra-high-performance (UHP) all-season tyre range. The tyre is now available in 103 dimensions for 17-22” rims. The new sizes will be added to the range in the first half of 2023. The new sizes offer options tailored for front or rear axles for front, rear and all-wheel drive applications. Apollo says the new sizes will ensure the Quatrac Pro remains suitable for a very diverse range of cars and SUVs. These include performance variants of the Mercedes G-Class, BMW 4 Series, Range Rover Velar, and Audi Q3.
The Vredestein Quatrac Pro all-season tyre features a tread compound designed to optimise traction during acceleration and provide high levels of year-round grip during braking and high-speed cornering. Handling in the wet is aided by the high silica and resin content and a specially designed tread pattern.
In 2022, the Quatrac Pro was lauded in several independent tyre tests. It was named the ‘Price/Quality Winner’ by Auto Straßenverkehr and gained the recommendation of ACE Lenkrad. Testers at AutoBild magazine were also impressed with the tyre, particularly for its performance on snow and its “stable driving behaviour and short braking distance on wet slopes, with low road noise.”
Yves Pouliquen, group head of sales and marketing at Apollo Tyres said: “Customer demand is driving this new launch programme, underlining the continued success of our performance-biased all-season products. The updated Quatrac Pro range still delivers best-in-class handling, and these new arrivals will help us reach an even broader selection of customers across Europe. Extensive testing by our R&D department has meant that the new sizes maintain the Quatrac Pro’s award-winning performance and safety credentials.”
Vredestein was a leading brand in the burgeoning all-season segment in the early 1990s, and the Dutch heritage brand continues to have a wide range of fitments as part of Apollo Tyres’ portfolio. Apollo Tyres recently announced the launch of its Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV, which the brand claims was the first all-season tyres developed specifically for battery electric vehicles and hybrids in the European.
