VMI opens extended Poland tyre manufacturing machinery factory
VMI is celebrating the opening of three new assembly halls at its manufacturing site in Leszno, Poland. This brings VMI’s total available floor space in Poland to almost 30,000 square meters. The expansion of the VMI operation, which is part of technology company TKH, follows a number of years of strong growth in VMI’s core tyre and pharmaceutical business.
The additional production halls augments VMI’s global manufacturing footprint which includes facilities in The Netherlands and China. In line with VMI’s commitment to sustainability, the new buildings are designed to match the environmental sustainability goals (ESG’s) which include the use of LED lighting and solar power. The investment will build on the success of the facility in Leszno which was inaugurated in 2017 and will enable the development of the highly skilled workforce to grow to over 200 within this year.
“This expansion is the next important step for VMI”, Harm Voortman, CEO VMI Group commented, adding: “By significantly increasing capacity in Poland, we enhance our ability to meet the needs of our customers and strengthen our global competitiveness”.
