Rema Tip Top acquires Abracs
Rema Tip Top AG has acquired UK-based abrasive and power tool accessories specialist Abracs Ltd. With the acquisition, Rema Tip Top intends to bring a wide range of new products to existing automotive customers and open up new markets in the UK and beyond.
Founded in 1989, Abracs manufactures and distributes branded abrasive, cutting and drilling products – especially grinders, blades and wire brushes for automotive applications. Abracs supplies to domestic and international markets via industrial and construction resale channels. Post-acquisition, Abracs will become part of Rema Tip Top’s Automotive division.
“We are thrilled to see Abracs join us and look forward to the opportunities and benefits this will bring to both companies,” says Mark Insley, Group chief executive officer at Rema Tip Top. “The acquisition of Abracs further strengthens our position within the UK market as we continue to deliver excellent service and support to our existing markets and customers, as well as explore new opportunities and markets working with the Abracs team.”
The Rema Tip Top Group already operates a number of sites in the UK and Ireland. The acquisition of Abracs adds another site to further drive the market development and growth in the UK. “Abracs and its subsidiaries have enjoyed significant growth levels and success over the last few years and I’m looking forward to continuing this with Rema Tip Top,” comments Rob Jeffery, Group managing director at Abracs.
Rema Tip Top states that its existing and new customers, along with those of Abracs, will “benefit significantly from the product and service synergies between the two companies.”
