Prinx presents European line-up on new website
During last year’s The Tire Cologne show, Prinx Chengshan shared plans to bring its Prinx brand to Europe as a flagship range. It is now doing so, accompanied by a new site for the region: prinxtire.eu.
Products featuring on the prinxtire.eu site include a pair of tyres for electric vehicles previewed in Cologne, Prinx XNEX Sport EV and XLAB Comfort EV.
Prinx Chengshan Tire Europe considers XNEX Sport EV the “best option for sport electric vehicles” and claims better wet braking, rolling resistance and interior noise characteristics in comparative testing against an unnamed “top brand” competitor. The tyre maker adds that XNEX Sport EV benefits from Silenteck and Healtek: The first of these is a foam material that reduces low-frequency cavity noise in the tyre by up to 12.6 dB(A) and the overall noise of other frequencies within the vehicle by 1-2 dB(A). Healtek is a self-sealing coating that automatically fills holes up to 6mm in the tyre’s tread; Prinx Chengshan reports that the substance is effective at temperatures of up to -30ºC.
XLAB Comfort EV is billed as the “wise choice of urban commuting electric vehicles” and is said to offer excellent hydroplaning performance and low noise. Testing against a “top brand” competitor shows the Prinx tyre to be superior in terms of wet braking, noise and mileage, shares Prinx Chengshan. The appearance of Prinx XLAB Comfort EV is enhanced by sidewall lettering and artwork being given the Inktech treatment.
Full passenger product range
In addition to these two products for electric cars, the Prinx range for Europe includes summer, all-season and winter tyres.
Prinx Chengshan says it is “targeting tier one brands” with Prinx Aquila REV, a “high-end premium UHP product” that’s available in 38 sizes for 17- to 22-inch rim diameters for cars and SUVs. According to the tyre maker, Aquila REV delivers “outstanding stability and instant response” and thus gives “high safety performance on dry and wet roads.”
Aquila Pro is a high-performance summer tyre, and again Prinx Chengshan is aiming for “performances on par with tier one brand” tyres. Specific stated characteristics include “excellent wet performance” in terms of grip and braking as well as “comfortable and silent driving” and “energy efficient” performance. Aquila Pro is offered in 42 sizes for 14- to 19-inch rim diameters.
Drivers looking for an all-season tyre may be interested in the Prinx Quattura 4S, a 3PMSF certified, summer-oriented product with v-shaped tread pattern. Prinx Chengshan says the tyre provides “excellent safety performance in all weather conditions.” The range of 29 sizes for 14- to 20-inch rim diameters covers both cars and SUVs.
The winter tyre in the Prinx line-up is called Winter Excelia, and Prinx Chengshan says it provides “superior stability and safety on snowy and icy roads” plus “reliable traction on wet and dry roads at low temperatures.” A range of 36 sizes covers 14- to 19-inch rim diameters.
