New additions to ContiRoadAttack 4, ContiRoad ranges
When Continental talks ContiRoadAttack 4, it refers to it as the “undisputed leader in the sport touring tyre segment.” A year into its career, ContiRoadAttack 4 now has the opportunity to win friends in the heavy tourer and adventure bike class with the addition of GT fitments. This single front and two rear GT sizes complement the existing range of five key front wheel and four rear dimensions.
“The RoadAttack 3 was extremely popular with adventure motorcycle owners who solely rode on-road. These tyres are about to be replaced by the new improved RoadAttack 4 in those sizes,” comments Richard Hemingway, business development manager for the Continental two-wheel range’s exclusive UK distributor, Cambrian Tyres. It is now a case of going, going, gone for ContiRoadAttack 3, with availability ending when Cambrian’s existing stocks are sold.
Compatible as they are with such a wide range of machines, Continental is confident that the combination of GT and adventure sizes make ContiRoadAttack 4 the “best in the business” for state-of-the-art, high-performance sport tourers as well as heavy touring/enduros and classic big bikes. The BMW K 1600 GT, R 1250 GS, and R 1250 RT/RS can all be kitted out with ContiRoadAttack 4, as can Ducati’s long-distance champion the Multistrada 950, the KTM 1050/1090 Adventure, Tri-umph Tiger 800, Yamaha FJR1300, and a touring icon in the shape of the XT1200Z Super Ténéré.
ContiRoad & other additions
Other new arrivals in the Continental two-wheeler line-up include further sizes for the ContiRoad sports touring tyre, a product Richard Hemingway says has “proven popular with both riders and bike manufacturers.” ContiRoad is already original equipment on several light and midweight roadgoing machines, such as the KTM 890 Juke and some versions of the Triumph Street Triple, and Continental is now releasing a cross-ply version of the tyre in four sizes that will be suitable for lightweight bikes such as the Yamaha YZF 125 and Honda CBR125. Hemingway considers the cross-ply model a “very capable sport touring option.”
A minor expansion to the ContiStreet and ContiScoot ranges is also taking place. ContiStreet is a tyre for lightweight and urban motorcycles while the ContiScoot, as its name suggests, is a high-end scooter tyre based around the RoadAttack.
