Hofmann Megaplan launches new Luxus tyre changer
Hofmann Megaplan is building on the UK introduction of the “premium specification” Luxus garage equipment brand with the new megamount Luxus 70LLF tyre changer. The company says the range embodies a “best-in-class” concept, claiming the tyre changer is the “toughest” yet seen on the UK market. Made in Italy by a well-established producer of tyre changers, Hofmann Megaplan says the megamount Luxus 70LLF’s structure “goes back as far as the early 1980s – when more steel was used and the manufacturing process was arguably more ‘artisan’.” The unit comes with Luxus’ five-year warranty, an annual Service & Inspection from a Hofmann Megaplan factory-trained engineer, and features as standard that would often be considered extras.
The megamount Luxus 70LLF features the new HPX Advance ‘assist’ system, which uses two pneumatic cylinders rather than the conventional single cylinder on the tyre changer assist arms. The result is an assist arm that can also be used to break the bead, further enhanced by a separate travelling press device, providing additional control and power for the operator when changing difficult tyres on expensive rims.
The tyre changer also features an integral wheel lifter, leverless operation, and 26” clamping, making it suitable for the wide range of car, SUV and light commercial wheels currently in the UK market. These features help the changer meet the needs of customers who need the highest-spec equipment, Hofmann Megaplan adds.
Luxus brand details
Hofmann Megaplan introduced its Luxus brand in 2021 with the Luxus two-post lift range. These US-style lifts include the HML35, HML40, HML55 and HML65 units with premium specifications for increasingly heavy-duty capacity: the Luxus HML35 has a 3.5 ton capacity, while the HML65 offers lifting up to 6.5 ton. Hofmann Megaplan says the range has been firmly established as one of the fastest-growing lift lines in terms of popularity in the UK.
