Hankook tyres for new US race series
Master Class of Racing (MCoR) is a new and – according to its promoter – “industry-changing” race series in the USA. The stated main goal of MCoR is to “offer sprint racing and a fantastic short format endurance racing (4 hours) at a cost that makes sense for teams and more critically, the drivers.” All of these drivers will compete on Hankook tyres.
Hankook Tire is exclusive tyre supplier during this year’s inaugural season under an agreement that extends to 2025. It will equip all participating vehicles with Hankook Ventus F200 tyres, a dry weather product it says provides “excellent grip, handling performance and durability.” The Ventus Z207 is available for racing in wet conditions.
As a Pro/Am series conceived with accessibility and sustainability at the forefront, MCoR has six distinct classes and mixes 50-minute sprint and endurance race. Participants will first run sprint races within their classes, and top drivers will then race in a mixed-class four-hour endurance race. The opening round will take place on 17 February at Road Atlanta in Georgia, and the season will conclude at Sonoma Raceway in California on 3 November 2023.
Hankook Tire currently supplies race tyres to more than 80 motorsport competitions around the world and also sponsors specific teams. It serves as exclusive tyre supplier and technical partner to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and continues to supply tyres exclusively to a range of championships, including the Stock Car Pro Series, 24H Series Powered by Hankook and Super Taikyu Series.
