Bridgestone, Pirelli standard on top-spec BMW i7
For the first time, BMW has debuted its flagship 7-Series as a full electric, with the BMW i7 arriving several months before the launch of its hybrid counterparts. We spotted an impressive-looking specimen parked in an airport terminal the other day, and couldn’t resist taking a look at the tyres.
The first thing we noticed is that the G70 model’s rim choice to envy is now 21-inch, up an inch from the prior G11. The BMW i7 we stumbled upon was an M Sport version equipped with star spoke style 908 M aluminium forged rims in 21 x 9 (front) and 21 x 10.5 (rear), a £1,000 option on the lower spec model offered in the UK and standard on the M Sport Pro, a car that can be yours for as little as £137,230. These rims are wrapped in the latest tyres from Bridgestone, the Turanza 6. The BMW i7 wears these in 255/40 R21 102 Y XL at the front and 285/35 R21 105 Y XL on the rear axle.
BMW also offers Pirelli P Zero tyres as a factory fitment in these dimensions. Along with Yokohama, Pirelli and Bridgestone also supply original equipment tyres for versions of the BMW i7 fitted with 19- and 20-inch rims.
