YOHT – fire report incorrect
Yokohama Off-Highway Tires notes that an erroneous report of a fire at its plant in Hadera, Israel has “caused confusion in the tyre industry.” Company officials confirmed today that there was no fire at the facility.
“All our plants in Japan, India and Israel are fully functional and running well, and there was no fire as was reported in Hadera,” said Anil Gupta, chief operating officer of Yokohama Off-Highway Tires.
“We regret any concern or inconvenience the unverified report has caused our customers and partners around the world,” added David Geraghty, president of Yokohama Off-Highway Tires America, Inc. “We are glad to report that our manufacturing teams are operating as usual.”
Meanwhile, YOHT shares that Janine Young, editor of Smither’s Report, has “expressed deep regret” about the erroneous story, which appeared in the 18 January 2023 report. “We are expecting a correction and a verified news in Smither’s Report confirming smooth running of operations at the Yokohama Off-Highway Tires Factory in Israel,” YOHT adds.
