Kenda partners with Lee Walters Off-Road Training School
Kenda and the brand’s official importer Cambrian Tyres tell us that they’ve started the year as they mean to go on, getting 2023 underway by announcing an exciting new partnership with the Lee Walters Off-Road Training School. Thanks to this new partnership, Walters will now be able to rely on Kenda’s wide range of enduro and trail tyres, which can be carefully matched to the type of riding or training he is undertaking.
Based at the 19th century Baskerville Hall near Hay-on-Wye, and with 130 acres of amazing terrain on site, Lee’s school has been teaching riders of all abilities to become better off-roaders for the past 11 years. Alongside his popular one-to-one training to prepare riders for infamous hard enduro events like Romaniacs, Walters also offers guided trail rides, enduro play days, and off-road training sessions for the growing adventure bike market.
Tyres for a range of machines
When it comes to his hard enduro training on his Beta 2-stroke machine, Lee has the choice of either the soft-compound Kenda Gauntlet, or super-soft Kenda Knarly with its extra-wide footprint for maximum traction on the most awkward of obstacles.
With several hundred miles of green lanes starting on his doorstep, Lee also needs a tyre which is both versatile and durable for his guided rides, and has been suitably impressed by the Kenda K777F Enduro / K779 Enduro combination he has tested on his Beta 4-stroke. Moving forwards, he also expects to test the popular Trakmaster tyre, a road-legal motocross option which has been a big hit with trail riders thanks to its impressive all-terrain grip, on-road stability and value for money.
Finally, for his KTM 990 Adventure bike, Lee can rely on the grip of the Kenda Big Block all-terrain adventure tyre to lead his customers on a journey across some of the most amazing off-road routes Wales has to offer.
Testament to Kenda’s quality & performance
At an official handover at Baskerville Hall on Friday 6 January, Cambrian Tyres Business Development Manager Richard Hemingway presented Lee with a variety of tyres from the Kenda range along with merchandise and branding which will be used on site during events to promote the partnership.
“We are really pleased to be working with Lee heading into 2023,” said Hemingway following the handover. “His reputation for providing excellent off-road tuition is well known, and it’s testament to the quality and all-round performance of Kenda’s products that a rider of Lee’s ability is willing to put his faith in them for his day-to-day business.”
