TMD Friction wins IAAF Outstanding Achievement award
TMD Friction’s technical training team recently won the Outstanding Achievement award at the annual Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) awards dinner. Taking place at DoubleTree by Hilton Milton Keynes on Thursday 8 December, the IAAF annual awards ceremony recognised exceptional contributions to the aftermarket sector throughout 2022.
TMD Friction’s training team was recognised for its uncompromising approach to continuing professional development (CPD) including informing customers and the wider aftermarket of correct fitting procedures and modern-day braking systems.
Scott Irwin MIMI, head of technical training at TMD Friction, said: “The entire team is delighted to have scooped this highly sought-after IAAF award. It is deserved recognition for the efforts made by the team throughout the year to go above and beyond providing knowledge and practical skills across all applications of safety-critical vehicle components.”
As well as topping up customer knowledge with training sessions for customers across the UK, the TMD Friction technical training team themselves remain agile to the changing landscape of the automotive industry, recently completing IMI-accredited electric and hybrid vehicle training.
Continuing professional development is a cornerstone of technical strategy at TMD Friction, and the braking specialist’s customers can also benefit from training sessions and technical workouts, to keep their knowledge up to date as increasingly complex braking systems and exacting safety standards are introduced.
This approach to training is backed up by the recent launch of TMD Friction’s new research and development facility at Seaton Ross in East Yorkshire, strengthening the company’s approach to CPD and reinforces the need for innovation in braking friction products for the automotive aftermarket.
TMD Friction offers configurable training modules to give mechanics the competitive edge and keep ahead of the changing landscape in the automotive industry.
