Kumho all-season, winter tyres get Auto Bild commendations
Kumho has continued its recent good form in tyre tests, outstripping 30 rival manufacturers to take fifth place overall in Auto Bild’s latest all-season tyre test. The Kumho Solus 4S HA32 was comprehensively put through its paces in a test that spanned two continents. Kumho rates the test highly, saying its results “will be regarded as highly significant by both the European tyre trade and its consumers.”
The Kumho tyre scored consistently in all conditions, helping it to a spot in the upper echelons of the 35 tyre test. The Auto Bild testers particularly commended the HA32 for its stable handling, good traction and short braking distances on snow, low wear rate, and good economy. The tyres were purchased on the market in size 195/55 R16, a size specified for a high percentage of Ford Fiestas, Vauxhall Corsas and similar best-selling models, and therefore one of the most common within the European car parc. UK drivers can fit 70 different sizes of the Solus 4S for wheel diameters between 14 and 20 inches.
Auto Bild also commended Kumho for the performance of its WinterCraft WP52 pattern. Competing in a dedicated winter tyre test against 55 rival products, the WP52 was made the test’s “Eco-Meister” for gaining top marks for its cost over 1,000 kilometres and achieving the joint-highest mileage overall.
