Ceat Specialty lifts ag radial capacity 50% – further growth planned
Ceat Specialty reports having increased its production capacity for agricultural radial tyres by 50 percent in 2022, a measure undertaken to meet growing demand for its agricultural radial tyres in Europe and around the globe. Further growth plans include raising production capacity for these products by 55 tons per day over the next two years.
Announcing its intention to boost agricultural tyre capacity, Ceat Specialty comments that its Farmax, Torquemax and Spraymax ranges have “become very popular in Europe.” In addition to growing market share with these products, the Indian tyre maker says it is “making significant inroads” with major OEMs around the world, most notably AGCO, CNH, John Deere and JCB. According to chief executive Amit Tolani, Ceat is particularly working to gain original equipment fitments in the European market.
“Ceat is in a good position in Europe with farmers dealing with high input costs but still requiring the latest Agriculture tyre technologies,” adds Tolani. “We can provide farmers technologies such as VF and IF tyres at affordable prices to allow them to lower their overall farm operating costs.”
Gratifying to see strong demand
Ceat Specialty describes its plant in Ambernath, located near Mumbai, as “one of the world’s most advanced agriculture radial tyre plants.” The manufacturer is thus proud to be a past recipient of the Deming Prize for Total Quality Management (TQM), one of the most respected quality awards in the world. When gaining this accolade in 2017, Ceat Specialty became the first tyre maker outside Japan to receive the Deming Prize.
“We’ve invested in world class manufacturing technologies and the best talent to design CEAT agriculture tyres,” shares Tolani. “So, it is very gratifying to see the strong demand for our products since entering the European market five years ago.”
