Vredestein: Quatrac Pro EV the first all-season tyre with HL mark
Following the news of the launch of the Quatrac Pro EV earlier this month, Vredestein has revealed further details about the product’s performance and range.
Specifically, rolling resistance is described as “15 per cent lower than the brand’s best-performing equivalent non-EV tyre”. Cornering stability comes with “a 6 per cent improvement in handling”. Then there’s said to be 4 per cent better dry braking, plus the ‘Three Peak Mountain Snowflake’ certification for use on ice and snow
The Quatrac Pro EV will be available through tyre retailers and distributors from December. Initially, the range will feature seven sizes for 18- and 19-inch wheel rims, but 12 additional sizes – including 17- and 20-inch options – will become available in 2023.
And what’s more, the Quatrac Pro EV is purportedly the first all-season tyre ever produced with the ‘High Load’ (HL) mark – which means the tyre is able to carry 10 per cent more weight than a reinforced ‘Extra Load’ (XL) tyre at the same pressure. The HL mark specifically applies to theits 255/40 R20 variant, which Vredestein representatives say underlines the tyre’s suitability for large all-electric cars and SUVs.
