Cinturato CA67 & CN36 sizes return to Pirelli range
The Pirelli Collezione range of tyres for cars built between 1930 and 2000 has grown with the addition of new Cinturato CA67 and CN36 dimensions. Pirelli has recreated the Cinturato CA67 in size 155 R13 and the Cinturato CN36 in 165 R13 for the Sport Spider and Sport Coupé versions of the Fiat 850 and Fiat 124. Pirelli will further expand the CN36 line-up next year with a new dimension for cars such as the Mercedes W113, W123, W126, the Alfa Romeo Montreal and Fiat Dino 2000.
In keeping with Pirelli Collezione tradition, the latest Cinturato products retain the classic appearance of the original tyres launched in the 1950s and 1960s, thanks to the contribution of the Pirelli Foundation, which maintains all original drawings and designs. But Pirelli Collezione tyres feature modern technology under the skin, and thanks to newly developed compounds have superior wet grip compared to the tyres they’re based upon, ensuring reliability and greater safety.
Cinturato was Pirelli’s flagship product of the 1950s and features a radial casing with crossed textile belts. Pirelli points to the key role Cinturato played in the genesis of the sports tyre, adding that it designed the CN36 in particular to keep high performance and Gran Turismo (GT) cars glued to the road. This tyre also recorded a number of important victories in rallying, equipping the Fiat 124 Sport in 1971. Today, it not only returns to the Fiat 124 range, but from 2023 it will also be available in a new 195/70R14 size.
