BKT debuts agri rubber track
In a teaser prior to this week’s SIMA show in Paris, BKT commented that its “new step ahead on tyres is not a tyre.” True to word, the Indian off-highway tyre specialist unveiled its latest product for the agricultural, the Agriforce BK T71 rubber track. BKT says this latest addition to its portfolio is “unstoppable on any terrain.”
Aimed at high-power tractors employed in soil tillage and row crop applications, Agriforce BK T71 offers the advantage of enhanced productivity and performance thanks to the ability of track-driven tractors to operate in fields at higher speeds at the same power, delivering increased fuel efficiency.
“BKT is aware that under some circumstances depending on usage and goals, tracks can be more functional compared to tyres,” shares BKT in a statement. “This is why the company has decided to further extend its already large product range by adding a new product category.”
Tracks provide several benefits
According to BKT, Agriforce BK T71 consists of distinctive features that make it “truly original and one of its kind.” For instance, its tread is made of a high-performance compound that offers the advantage of extraordinary resistance against cuts, tearing and wear. Furthermore, BKT says the optimised tread pattern provides excellent traction and ride comfort, whilst the drive lugs of the positive drive system have an optimised shape to ensure extraordinary flexibility. In addition, the track carcass has been reinforced with four layers of high-tensile steel cords. “Thanks to these features, Agriforce BK T71 offers the perfect balance between high dimensional stability and flexibility to ensure extraordinary durability,” states the manufacturer.
BKT is launching Agriforce BK T71 in size 18″ x 6″ x 44 and is currently developing a further four sizes. The company is addressing anticipated growth in the track segment by establishing a dedicated track facility at its Bhuj production site in India. “Agriforce T71 is indeed the first of a long series of tracks already scheduled in BKT’s development plan. The company is working on the upcoming release of new rubber tracks not only for agriculture but also the construction sector.”
