Oak Tyres plans for high-demand winter season
With the winter months approaching and the cost-of-living challenge affecting many across the UK, the next few months are vital represent an important part of the year, Oak Tyres tells Tyres & Accessories. The wholesaler, part of Grouptyre, has been planning since early 2022 to strengthen its position. Oak Tyres’ winter tyre supply chain planning starts in February each year, with production running through the summer. This means that the brand has stock arriving from Autumn onwards for the winter months. Oak says it is anticipating “unprecedented demand” for sister tyre brand, Davanti, “due to its value proposition,” an eventuality it has prepared for.
Peter Cross, Davanti Tyres general manager, said: “We have worked hard to remove inflationary uplift at all points in the supply chain and believe that we can offer unparalleled availability and value for customers to stay mobile through the winter months.”
Davanti launched its first all-season passenger car tyre, the Alltoura 4-Seasons, this summer. The tyre offers a directional tread pattern to ensure reliable winter traction; a compound formulated to deliver an engaging drive with safe and stable performance across a range of temperatures experienced with the changing seasons; and intelligent sipe design for efficient clearing of water and extra grip on snow and ice while maintaining tread block stability on dry roads.
Cross added: “The team have worked incredibly hard to take it from concept to market and we’re excited to present a tyre which can react and adapt to the varying climate conditions, offering limitless possibilities. It’s also important we’ve created a product which gives consumers an economical option whilst providing confidence, thanks to its credentials and our rigorous testing process.”
