Nokian Tyres expands Nokia site
Nokian Tyres has acquired a property adjacent to its headquarters and factory in Nokia, Finland. With the addition of this 27,000 square metre building, which the tyre maker purchased from real estate company Nokian Portti Oy, the Nokian Tyres site in Nokia approaches 150,000 square metres in total.
“We are very pleased to acquire more space for our use. The use of the property has not been decided yet, however, larger spaces allow us more flexibility and opportunities to plan future operations and growth in Nokia,” says Manu Salmi, executive vice-president, Heavy Tyres and the Nokia factory.
Nokian Tyres announced in June that it had bought three hectares of land in the vicinity of the Nokia factory. By acquiring the land and property, the company intends to secure future development opportunities at the Nokia factory. The newly-acquired property is located at Pirkkalaistie 1, Nokia.
