Land development plan for Federal plant approved
Recently, Taiwanese tyre manufacturer Federal disclosed to the public its recent operations, including land development plans associated with one of its factories. Federal has two factories in Taiwan, located in Chungli and Guanyin, with a total of 535 employees. The tyre maker said the Guanyin plant has an annual capacity of 3 million tyres; the Chungli plant has been suspended due to the implementation of anti-dumping duties by the United States.
Not long ago, the local government approved a land development plan for the Chungli factory. According to the data, the Chungli factory is located in the city centre with a very advantageous geographical location. The land is divided into two areas, a residential area and an industrial and commercial complex. The site approved by the government this time is the residential one.
To reduce the negative impact of US trade sanctions, the Federal said it is ready to actively expand markets outside the US, such as Europe, Central and South America and Asia. Tyrepress notes that the Federal is not entirely abandoning the US market. The tyre company plans to use other companies’ overseas factories to manufacture its own-brand tyres to avoid US anti-dumping duties. The Guanyin factory takes orders from other tyre companies and processes other brands’ tyres to achieve the purpose of releasing production capacity. In addition, Federal has developed products not affected by the US anti-dumping investigation, such as ATVs, UTVs, and SSVs, and plans to sell these products to the US market.
