Ceat offering growing made for Europe truck range
Many people don’t realise that the Ceat tyre brand began life in Italy and the name is in fact short for Cavi Elettricie Affini Torino, or Electrical Cables and Allied Products of Turin. Many also aren’t aware that Ceat is today one of India’s top tyre makers and offers a full portfolio, from scooter through to tractor tyres. Truck tyres too, and the company is currently working to gain a foothold within this sector in the UK and Europe. It is spearheading efforts here with the new generation Winmile range.
Specifically engineered for European Roads, Winmile is available in various 22.5-inch drive, steer and trailer fitments as well as 17.5-inch sizes for smaller commercial vehicles. Ceat states that Winmile offers “best in class tyre life” as well as low rolling resistance.
Winmile S: Ceat says its steer tyre delivers top mileage while ensuring fuel efficient low rolling resistance. Its ribbed tread pattern offers “superior steering control and driving stability” as well as all-weather 3PMSF performance. Winmile S is available in sizes 315/70R22.5 and 315/70R22.5.
Winmile D: Developed for regional and super-regional applications, this Ceat drive axle tyre offers a “durable casing” and “superior mileage performance.” The manufacturer states that the tyre’s block pattern and robust casing provides superior traction and is suitable for multiple retreading. Winmile D carries the 3PMSF marking for all-weather performance. Like its steer counterpart, Ceat offers the tyre in sizes 315/70R22.5 and 315/70R22.5.
Winmile T: Designed to provide stability in regional and super-regional applications, Winmile T features a straight rib tread design. Ceat says this provides maximum mileage with lower rolling resistance, bringing down operational costs. The 3PMSF-certified trailer tyre is available in 385/55R22.5 and 385/65R22.5.
Winmile X3R: Ceat developed these tyres for medium-haul applications, and they are 3PMSF certified. The XR3 steer tyre is available in size 295/80R22.5 and is additionally now offered in 215/75R17.5, 235/75R17.5 and 245/70R17.5.
Winsuper X3D: With this drive tyre, Ceat promises “high durability and superior mileage performance” for regional applications across Europe. The manufacturer adds that the X3D block pattern and casing “enables superior traction and allows multiple retreads,” thereby bringing down the cost of operations. Ceat currently offers the X3D in size 295/80R22.5.
