£200m Xingda Thailand factory phase II confirmed
On October 3, the Thailand factory of Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tyre Cord Co and Rojana Industrial Park Public Co held a land signing ceremony. It is reported that after seven months of planning, site selection and communication, the steel tyre cord factory finally decided to place Phase II in the Bowin Industrial Park in Chonburi Province, managed by Rojana.
Tyrepress learned that the investment in the second phase of the Xingda Thailand plant is about 1.6 billion yuan (about 200 million pounds, 230 million euros), with a designed annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of steel tyre cords. This project has been officially registered by the National Development and Reform Commission of China, and the construction period is about 24 months.
Fu Shuangjie, deputy general manager of Xingda Steel Tyre Cord, attended the land signing ceremony. He hoped that Rojana could provide more support during Phase II’s construction.
According to the data, the first phase of the Xingda Thailand factory is also located in Chonburi Province. With an investment of 1 billion yuan (about 130 million pounds, 140 million euros), this project was officially opened and put into operation in September 2019, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of steel tyre cords. The products in the first phase mainly serve the Southeast Asian, Indian, American and European markets.
