Vredestein celebrates 25 years of Traxion technology, launches two new agri/off-highway tyres
In 1997 Vredestein introduced the Traxion+, which featured a – quite literally – ground-breaking tread pattern that combined a reinforced central area with a graduated and non-parallel lug design for both traction and improved self-cleaning properties. 25 years down the line, the Vredestein Traxion concept has played a key role in Vredestein’s current tractor tyre range – something that can be seen in the VF Traxion Optimall, the Traxion XXL, Traxion 65, Traxion 70 and Traxion 85. As part of the celebrations, the company launched two new Vredestein trailer tyres – the new Vredestein Endurion Trailer and the Vredestein Flotation Optimall.
New Vredestein Endurion Trailer
The new Vredestein Endurion Trailer is designed to offer “robustness, comfort, and tyre life”. It features a directional tread pattern design, with Traxion-inspired non-parallel curved blocks, that for enhanced self-cleaning properties. Furthermore, the large rubber contact area in the middle is there for driving comfort and “exceptionally long tyre life”. The addition of a heavy-duty carcass with steel belt and a reinforced ring guarantees extreme robustness, and outstanding stability during heavy duty transport.
The new Endurion Trailer will be available from January 2023 in the following popular sizes:
- 560/60 R 22.5 IMP TL 165D
- 600/55 R 26.5 IMP TL 169D
- 650/55 R 26.5 IMP TL 173D
- 600/60 R 30.5 IMP TL 173D
Vredestein Flotation Optimall VF trailer tyre
The tyre manufacturer also introduced a new Vredestein VF Flotation tyre prioritising soil quality underneath heavy slurry tankers and agricultural trailers. The new Vredestein Flotation Optimall is a premium tyre solution that raises the bar in terms of soil preservation, grassland-friendliness and self-cleaning, while also lowering the pressure required to run effectively
In order to do that, the Flotation Optimall features a very high flexion (VF) steel belted construction based on the Vredestein’s F+ technology. As with all Vredestein tyres featuring F+ technology, the Flotation Optimall is compatible with central tyre inflation systems (CTIS).
In the tread zone, smooth and chamfered tread blocks in combination with rounded shoulders are designed to preserve the grassland structure, especially while turning on headlands. The directional tread pattern design is featured by unique non-parallel curved blocks towards the outside. This characteristic shape, proven by Vredestein’s – the inheritance of the product’s Traxion heritage – is designed to further improve self-cleaning properties on all soil types, keeping the roads clean and safe.
The new Flotation Optimall will be available from spring 2023 onwards in seven sizes:
- VF 710/45 R 22.5 IMP TL 170D
- VF 600/55 R 26.5 IMP TL 170D
- VF 710/50 R 26.5 IMP TL 176D
- VF 750/45 R 26.5 IMP TL 176D
- VF 800/45 R 26.5 IMP TL 179D
- VF 710/50 R 30.5 IMP TL 178D
- VF 750/60 R 30.5 IMP TL 187D
The Traxion 25th anniversary celebrations saw Vredestein host press and customers from all over Europe at its factory and R&D centre in Enschede (NL) as well as a demonstration field in the rural Dutch countryside. See October’s edition of Tyres & Accessories magazine for further coverage of all of this as well as an interview with Apollo Vredestein Europe president Benoit Rivallant.
