Bridgestone & Yokohama tyres OE on Mazda’s first PHEV
Mazda Motor Corporation has selected the Yokohama Advan V61 and Bridgestone Alenza 001 as original equipment tyres for UK-spec models of the new Mazda CX-60. It will equip the crossover SUV with the Advan V61 in size 235/60R18 103V and the Alenza 001 in 235/50 R20 100W.
Debuting this month in various markets around the world, the CX-60 is Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid. Mazda Motor UK says this “crafted in Japan” crossover represents “everything that Mazda has built into its DNA over the last 100 years.” The Mazda CX-60 comes with a 2.5 litre, petrol engine combined with a 100 kW electric motor and 17.8 kWh battery that offers up to 39 miles of pure electric driving when in Normal or EV mode. Working together, the engine and motor deliver a combined power of 327ps.
Yokohama Rubber reports that the Mazda CX-60 will wear a different version of the Advan V61 in certain markets, arriving in showrooms fitted with a 235/60R18 107V tyre. The Yokohama Geolandar X-C is also original equipment for the CX-60 in some parts of the world, in 235/60R18 103H.
