BKT expands recycling machinery tyre range with new sizes
BKT is responding to the need for speciality tyre products in the recycling industry with new sizes. Leading the range expansion are the speciality 300/70 R16.5 Skid Max SR-Skidder and the 405/70 R18 BK-Loader 53. BKT notes the diversity of machinery operating in recycling centres, calling these environments “one of the most difficult and demanding” for tyres. As a result of such highly specific needs, the manufacturer has developed purpose-made products and is as many sizes and variants as possible.
BKT uses its market connections to develop the right tyre products based on the experience of users. Its range is designed to meet the requirements of both extraordinary resistance and durability, as well as giving stability and comfort to drivers. It credits field experience in disposal and material recycling environments with the innovation of five ultra-specialised BKT tyre ranges for loaders, skid steers and telehandlers.
The Skid Max SR-Skidder helps to support heavy loads while maintaining stability. It has an all-steel structure for greater resistance to impacts. The thick sidewall and rim guard help minimise the risk of punctures and accidental damage to the tyre and rim. Its wide tread with a continuous central lug is made of a special anti-static and abrasion-resistant compound to ensure excellent traction and a long service life. The tyre is available in two sizes, including the recently introduced 300/70 R16.5.
The BK-Loader 53 features an aramid belt with an extra-deep tread design for lateral stability and resistance to wear, cuts, and punctures. It also promotes self-cleaning to ensure the rapid expulsion of debris and improved grip and traction on both wet and dry surfaces.
New Earthmax variants
BKT has also added new variants to its Earthmax range for additional OTR applications. The Earthmax SR 53 is now available in size 29.5 R29 in both L-5 ** UMS (Underground Mining Service) and L-5 *** super resistant classes. The deep L-5 tread offers increased wear resistance and self-cleaning properties, with a tread compound offering additional cut resistance. The tyre is designed for loaders and dozers operating under extreme conditions.
The Earthmax SR 55 features an extra-deep, L5-S-class tread along with a smooth surface providing long durability, thus minimising downtime. It also has additional stability and traction features.
The Giant Trax has been designed for skid steers operating on rough surfaces. The extra-deep tread with wider and sturdier blocks improves traction, stability, and puncture resistance. The special tread compound provides resistance to cuts, punctures, and wear.
