Apollo OE on Schwarzmüller trailers
Trailer manufacturer Schwarzmüller has selected Apollo Tyres’ EnduRace RT, EnduRace RT2 and EnduTrax MAHD tyres as original equipment for its truck trailers. This is Apollo’s first original equipment deal in the European truck sector.
The two-year partnership began in April with delivery of the first regional trailer tyres to Schwarzmüller’s headquarters in Freinberg, Austria. Apollo supplies the trailer manufacturer with tyres from its Gyöngyöshalász plant in Hungary in five 17- to 22-inch dimensions, 385/65, 385/55, 245/70, 235/75 and 385/65.
“We are proud to announce our first OE trailer partnership with one of the continent’s most successful truck trailer manufacturers,” says John Nikhil Joy, Apollo Tyres’ cluster director Europe – Truck & Bus tyres. “Our best trailer tyre is proven to meet the demands of users across Europe with its broad range of performance attributes and low cost of ownership. To be named a partner of Schwarzmüller speaks for itself.
“This latest milestone is credited to our teams across research and development, quality, manufacturing and sales, who have all turned our business vision into a reality. We look forward to building on this relationship over the next couple of years.”
Oliver Hirning, Schwarzmüller’s vice-president supply chain, adds: “We are very proud of our association with Apollo Tyres, who are renowned for innovative products that deliver best-in-class standards of performance and safety. This new partnership will allow us to offer our global customer base a range of premium performance tyres for all-season conditions.”
EnduRace & EnduTrax
While engineered to performed well across all seasons, Apollo Tyres says it optimised the second generation of the EnduRace RT to deliver outstanding grip in wet and winter conditions. The tyre is accordingly certified for snow grip with a ‘three-peak mountain and snowflake’ mark. The tyre’s grip is 15 per cent better overall compared to the previous generation, the manufacturer adds.
With the EnduRace RT2, Apollo Tyres speaks of premium mileage performance with enhanced durability and reduced rolling resistance thanks to a tread compound that helps minimise abrasion and heat build-up. It adds that a reinforced ply casing significantly improves tear resistance and retreadability, offering improved durability that is 1.7 times greater than the European regulatory requirement.
As for the EnduTrax MAHD, Apollo says this offers high impact resistance with excellent traction for maximum uptime. The tyre uses 14 per cent extra cushioning between the tread and belt, achieving a higher resistance to stone drilling and chipping. It has been designed to improve rubber contact by five per cent, which further enhances tread rigidity and offers more mileage.
