Wanli planning to build Vietnam tyre factory

A source familiar with the matter told Tyrepress that the country Wanli visited was Vietnam. “At present, Wanli is still drawing up plans, but the location of overseas factories is likely to be in Vietnam.”

Wanli is a state-owned tyre company headquartered in Guangzhou, with two tyre factories in Guangzhou and Hefei. The company announced in 2017 that it planned to invest in a tyre manufacturing base in the United States. However, in 2018, Wanli shelved the US factory plan.

In recent years, many Chinese tyre companies have established factories overseas. Among them, Sailun, Guizhou Tyre and Jinyu established tyre factories in Vietnam. Doublestar invested in the Kumho Vietnam factory in 2021 through a Hong Kong subsidiary. Doublestar’s investment was mainly used to expand production capacity.
