VMI: Healthy order books & on track for UNIXX launch
According to parent company TKH Group NV, business at Netherlands-based machinery manufacturer VMI was very healthy during the first six months of 2022, with tyre building equipment contributing in no small way to TKH’s 24.0 per cent year-on-year increase in turnover.
Systems for manufacturing tyres account for about 71 per cent of TKH’s Smart Manufacturing Business, whose turnover rose 38.4 per cent year-on-year in H1 2022, to 265.0 million euros. This figure represents 28.5 per cent of total TKH Group turnover.
Elaborating on its activities during the first half of the year, TKH states that it increased production output for tyre building machinery as a result of the “record order intake from 2021.” The company reports that the order intake for both passenger and truck tyre systems remained “at a high level” in H1 2022.
TKH shares that the VMI Revolute automatic bead apex assembly system “received excellent market response” which resulted in new booked orders. It further reports that industrialisation of VMI UNIXX is “progressing well” and the technology is on track for commercial launch by the end of this year.
