Prinx and JD.com enter EV tyre agreement
Prinx Chengshan and leading Chinese e-commerce firm JD.com have reached a strategic cooperation agreement. The deal will see JD.com’s automotive department distribute Prinx brand electric vehicle tyres, a new product launched by Prinx Chengshan in 2022, amongst other things.
As well as sales distribution, the collaboration includes mining electric vehicle user data, observing tyre life cycle and cooperating in the online and offline retail experience.
Prinx Chengshan president Che Baozhen and vice president Yu Hang attended the signing ceremony. JD.com’s executives involved in the signing include Chen Haifeng, general manager of the auto business department, and Chen Songfeng, general manager of JD Auto’s car maintenance omnichannel business.
Yu Hang said: “[This cooperation can integrate] JD.com’s online and offline service ecology, and Prinx Chengshan’s advantages in brand, product, sales channels, and digital services, to further expand user service scenarios and provide electric vehicle users with better products and services.”
Chen Haifeng said: “The cooperation [between JD.com and Prinx] means that JD.com will serve car owners in a more comprehensive and refined manner through in-depth operation and maintenance of market segments.”
Prinx’s brand positioning is “born for the electric age”, which goes some way towards indicating Prinx Chengshan’s intentions for the electric vehicle tyre market. This product uses Silenteck sound-absorbing technology to reduce the noise of electric vehicles. The Healteck self-healing technology is designed to further improve the driving safety of electric vehicles by applying a special self-sealing coating on the inner side of the tyre crown to reduce the risk of tyre blowout and loss of control.
At present, Prinx brand electric vehicle tyres have been sold on the JD.com website. Among them, Xnex Sport EV is suitable for sports electric vehicles, and Xlab Comfort EV is intended for urban commuting electric vehicles.
