Mahle strengthens sales and quality teams with two new appointments
Mahle Aftermarket UK has appointed Jason Smith as its new UK sales and marketing manager, and Alan Povey as quality, warranty, and technical representative, respectively.
The two new appointments strengthen Mahle Aftermarket’s continued push for developing OE-quality, reliable products for the automotive aftermarket, and communicating its product portfolio to customers across the UK.
Smith brings to Mahle Aftermarket more than 25 years’ industry experience, joining from Ring Automotive, after previously progressing through the industry in roles at Exide and Denso. He will be responsible for daily management of the national sales team and working with internal and external partners to plan UK marketing activities.
“The opportunity to join such a brand like Mahle was a huge factor in joining the team. It’s a company renowned for quality, which is something that shines through from feedback from the customer base I’m now working with,” Smith said.
Povey also brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the team and has covered all areas of the aftermarket, with a strong emphasis on the technical areas of products, presenting and reporting on product issues from fitting to manufacturing.
He will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s technical and quality response within the automotive aftermarket, and will develop product training to all levels of the market.
He will also provide technical updates on products on a regular basis to keep the industry informed and to stop installation errors in product categories such as Thermal, Air Conditioning, Rotating Electrics and Seals.
“I’m looking forward to building levels of service with our customers as a partner, not just a supplier – instilling trust into our relationships, which is something that is so crucial in the automotive aftermarket. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of ensuring quality products enter the market to deliver quality back up to all levels of the business, and its great to a part of Mahle’s forward-thinking team.” said Povey.
