Davanti launches first all-season passenger car tyre, Alltoura 4-Seasons
The newest tyre in the UK-based brand’s growing tyre range is seen as a crucial addition in extending its global reach into existing and new markets
Davanti Tyres has launched its first all-season passenger car tyre, the Alltoura 4-Seasons. The new all-season passenger car tyre has been engineered to provide durability and performance in spring, summer, autumn, and winter, with a range of technical features contributing to its versatility. The new tyre joins the recently launched Vantoura 4-Seasons light commercial vehicle tyre in the brand’s portfolio targeting year-round mobility and has been the product of thousands of miles of testing at the UK-based brand’s summer and winter test centres. With the latest generation of premium all-season tyres proving successful in convincing UK and European motorists of the value in fitting versatile tyres, the new product line from one of the UK market’s biggest-selling mid-range brands will challenge for a piece of this growing segment. It also extends the second wave of Davanti tyres, whose names contain the “toura” suffix, introduced since the brand’s launch range from 2015. Other such products include the Terratoura all-terrain tyre, and several versions of the Wintoura cold weather tyre series, which has models for the car, performance car, SUV, and van segments.
“We’ve seen the all-season segment grow across almost every part of Europe,” explains Peter Cross, General Manager of Davanti Tyres. “In fact in some countries, all season tyres now make up close to 50 per cent of the market. We’ve even seen uptake of Alltoura with our distributors outside of Europe including Japan, Korea and Chile. While weather in the UK is not as extreme as some parts of the continent, it can be very unpredictable, so all season tyres are the perfect solution.”
The UK’s all-season tyre market has grown in both volume and value over the past few years according to market data derived from GfK’s panelmarket sample of tyre retailers. This growth has primarily spiked in high-value segments like SUV fitments, which are more likely to demand higher-priced premium brand products. This also reflects the cutting-edge manufacturing technologies that have made current-gen year-round tyre fitments less of a compromise than the products of previous generations.
He continues: “They offer versatility for everyday drivers, and are a strong solution for both summer and winter applications. Not to mention value for money because it removes the cost of changing the tyres twice a year and also buying two sets for warmer and colder months. We set tough testing benchmarks to ensure they can cope with all weather conditions, and we’re pleased to add Alltoura 4-Seasons and our commercial tyre solution Vantoura 4-Seasons, as flagship products within our new generation offering. We see our all-season range as critical in developing Davanti’s presence across major parts of Europe, with a growing base here in the UK.”
Davanti Alltoura 4-Seasons key features
Davanti states that the new Alltoura 4-Seasons balances key technical attributes of winter and summer tyres. This balance of features helps to deliver strong all-round tyre performance across a variety of climatic conditions.
The Alltoura 4-Seasons’ key features include:
- a directional tread pattern to improve traction and braking in wet weather;
- a specially formulated compound to deliver grip in extreme temperatures and different surfaces seen across the seasons;
- and intelligent sipe design to allow for efficient clearing of water and extra grip on snow and ice.
Davanti adds that these engineering innovations allow the Alltoura 4-Seasons tyres to tackle snow and icy surfaces, as well as giving superior grip on wet and dry surfaces. The advanced silica compound delivers traction and longevity for year-round lasting performance, providing an economical and practical tyre and removing the need to change between summer and winter tyres.
Peter Cross adds: “It’s great to bring a new, innovative all-season passenger car tyre to the market which offers year-round lasting performance. The team have worked incredibly hard to take it from concept to market and we’re excited to present a tyre which can react and adapt to the varying climate conditions, offering limitless possibilities. It’s also important we’ve created a product which gives consumers an economical option whilst providing confidence, thanks to its credentials and our rigorous testing process.”
Davanti’s Alltoura 4-Seasons tyres have been stringently tested in summer conditions at Applus+ IDIADA’s leading facilities, as well as comprehensive winter testing at Test World (part of the Millbrook Group) in Finland. The tyres are also Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certified, which make them legally approved to be driven in countries with winter tyre legislation.
Davanti tyres benefit from engineering input from tyre professionals based in Europe and manufacturing partnerships with major factories in South-East Asia. This is the first all-season passenger car tyre developed by Davanti, adding to its growing portfolio. Davanti states that it has “unwavering” commitment to development and testing.
The Alltoura 4-Seasons range covers sizes 14″-18”.
