ZC Rubber increasing OE business with VW, Ford
China’s ZC Rubber, manufacturer of the Westlake, Goodride, Chaoyang, Arisun and Trazano tyre brands, has shared news of its recent activities in the original equipment tyre supply business, a sector where it has been present for more than a decade. In recent months the company added Volkswagen and Ford/Lincoln to its OEM portfolio, joining firms such as Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, Changan Auto, Great Wall Motor and Geely.
After completing SAIC Volkswagen Automotive’s potential audit at the start of 2022, ZC Rubber and the Shanghai-based Volkswagen joint venture signed a nomination letter in April. Under the terms of this agreement, ZC Rubber will develop original equipment tyres for SAIC Volkswagen in various sizes. The signing also marked the start of an official collaboration between the two parties, one that ZC Rubber says showcases its “solid technical foundation” and “capacity for quality assurance” as well as SAIC Volkswagen’s “high regard for ZC Rubber.”
ZC Rubber came on board as a Ford/Lincoln original equipment supplier in September 2021 with its provision of tyres for the Lincoln Nautilus in China. The tyre maker anticipates additionally supplying OE tyres for the Lincoln Aviator from November and for the Ford Escort in 2023.
