SuperTruck’s European rollout – Schena to head business
The SuperTruck dealer consortium is gearing up to launch in six European markets, including the UK, and Prometeon Tyre Group has appointed Riccardo Schena to lead the network during this time of growth. The company introduced Schena, who has served as Prometeon’s chief financial officer for Europe since September 2020, to dealers at a recent meeting in the Italian town of Gubbio.
Debuting in Italy in July 2019, SuperTruck is an “alliance” between Prometeon and specialist truck and bus tyre dealers that aims to “provide the best possible service to fleets and hauliers.” It now consists of 31 member companies and over 50 sales outlets within a network numbering more than 120.
The first-ever major SuperTruck dealer meeting coincided with the launch of Prometeon’s Pirelli Serie 02 range, and the network delivers a convincing benefit here: Prometeon says that purchasers of Serie 02 tyres who register these with the network will benefit from a four-year warranty, double the standard duration. Furthermore, customers will obtain a new tyre in the event of a claim, regardless of wear levels.
UK launch in January 2023
But Schena stresses that SuperTruck is not just about the product: “In Gubbio we also presented the exclusive Pro Service package,” the new president adds. “First and foremost, Pro Check – a tyre monitoring system designed for fleets and resellers which helps keep track of performance in order to plan maintenance activities. Pro Time, also known as SOS 24 SuperTruck, is the roadside assistance service geared to SuperTruck resellers and customers. It offers the same price list for all, a dedicated number, and above all 24/7 coverage with Europe-wide assistance. Last but not least is Pro Finance, which allows end customers to access finance under favourable terms.”
Prometeon also launched its new SuperTruck slogan during the event in Italy: Your work, our passion.
From its birthplace in Italy, SuperTruck is gradually expanding to further locations within Europe. It arrived in Poland in October 2020 and is now represented there by more than 20 outlets. Fleets in Greece and Cyprus will get to know SuperTruck in September 2022, and the network will extend to Spain in October and Germany and Switzerland in November. Hauliers and fleets in the UK will need just a pinch of patience, as SuperTruck is scheduled to arrive here next January.
