Pyrolysis tyre recycling: Ipswich facility amongst planned Pyrum SPVs
At its recent Annual General Meeting, the first held since the company’s IPO in Oslo and its secondary listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Pyrum Innovations AG shared details of the special purpose vehicles (SPV) that it intends to establish with joint venture partners. It has already announced one of these, a 20,000-tonne pyrolysis plant in Germany, but a further six SPV projects (as well as a 100 per cent owned plant) are on the cards – including a facility in the UK.
Pyrum Innovations has revealed little about the planned UK joint venture project so far and declined to provide any information when asked. Yet the presentation shown at its Annual General Meeting offers the smallest of teasers: Project #7 on a list of eight pertains to the establishment of a SPV plant somewhere in or around Ipswich. Pyrum reports that three of six pre-construction steps have already been accomplished, but does not shed light on the project’s timetable.
Other planned SPV projects include facilities in Ireland (Waterford), Belgium (Antwerp) and four in Germany (Bavaria, Baden Württemberg, Hesse & Lower Saxony). Pyrum also intends to set up a 100 per cent owned facility near the border between Germany and Luxembourg.
