Michelin wins 6 DriverReviews awards
Michelin reports collecting half a dozen accolades at the inaugural Customer Choice Awards held by DriverReviews, the division of online retail subsidiary Blackcircles.com set up to “provide an independent, fully verified and trusted voice.” The brand is outright winner in four of the nine awards categories and highly recommended or commended in a further two.
The quartet of Michelin tyres taking home top-level awards are the Pilot Sport 4 (hot hatch tyres), Pilot Sport 4 S (high performance car tyres), CrossClimate 2 (all-season tyres) and CrossClimate SUV (all-season SUV tyres). DriverReviews highly recommends the Primacy 4 (family car tyres) and commends the Latitude Sport 3 (medium & large SUV tyres).
Great pride
Commenting on this enviable award performance, Michael Meredith, customer marketing manager at Michelin UK, said: “With such a wide-ranging and robust approach to the selection process, we take great pride in winning four categories and achieving very high praise in two others.”
Adam Butcher, the online retailer’s head of product, adds: “For many shoppers, the tyre buying experience is not a simple one, it is a complicated purchase and that is why DriverReviews partner with multiple tyre retailers and tyre manufacturers to generate 100 per cent authentic tyre reviews to help consumers make an informed choice.
“Michelin has produced an outstanding performance in our debut awards, which shows exactly why it is at the cutting edge of the tyre business,” Butcher continues. “Not only does Michelin offer a wide breadth of choice to suit almost any vehicle, its tyres also produce consistently high ratings from customers.”
Considered by many to be the UK’s leading online tyre retailer, Blackcircles was founded by entrepreneur Mike Welch in October 2001. The company thrived under Welch’s leadership and achieved annual sales of £40 million in 2015, the year in which Michelin acquired a 100 per cent shareholding in the company for £50 million. Blackcircles currently works with a network of over 2,000 independent garages in the UK and the brand is also present in Canada, Egypt, Mexico, South Africa and Thailand.
