Huasheng Rubber and Haoyu Rubber fined
Two Chinese tyre manufacturers, Shandong Huasheng Rubber Co., Ltd. and Shandong Haoyu Rubber Co., Ltd., suffered administrative penalties in June due to production safety issues. Both companies are located in Guangrao County, Dongying City, Shandong Province.
Huasheng Rubber is affiliated with the Shandong Huasheng Rubber Group. Companies belonging to that group include Hongsheng Rubber and Habilead Rubber.
Huasheng Rubber received six fines from the Guangrao County Bureau of Emergency Management, totalling 254,000 yuan (£31,290; 36,747 euros; US$37,661). Multiple reasons have been given for punishment. The relevant departments found in a random inspection that Huasheng Rubber had installed a new device to deal with volatile organic compounds but did not conduct safety education and training for the person who used the equipment. Furthermore, the tyre manufacturer was found not to have informed surrounding units and personnel of the new device’s possible accident risks and emergency precautions. Meanwhile, Huasheng Rubber was reportedly unable to record the time, content, participants and assessment results of safety production education and training.
The unit that punished Haoyu Rubber was the Dongying Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management. It is reported that Haoyu Rubber’s safety equipment did not conform to national and industry standards during installation and use. The items in question included the ventilation equipment in the power distribution station, the electric cutting machine and the motor in the recycled water workshop. The Dongying Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management also found that the tyre manufacturer did not implement the emergency supplies stipulated in the emergency plan, and its duty room for high-voltage power distribution was not equipped with emergency lighting. After the above problems appeared, Haoyu Rubber received a fine of 70,000 yuan.
Haoyu Rubber was established in May 2009 and is currently a strategic partner of Wuchan Zhongda Utech Co., Ltd.
