Hella Gutmann presents mega macs X and new MT-HV add-on module for EVs

Hella Gutmann presented its new MT-HV module combined with the mega macs X multi-brand diagnostic tool for high voltage measurements on hybrid and electric vehicles at Autopromotec. The MT-HV module communicates with mega macs X via Bluetooth and is powered by a rechargeable battery, thus eliminating wiring that could be a hindrance during high voltage tests.

MT-HV has permanently integrated the high voltage technology and is equipped with a slot where the low voltage modules, MT-56 and MT-77 can be housed, further enhancing their functionality. Using appropriate accessories, the complete module therefore performs the same functions as a multimeter and a fast oscilloscope, both with two channels, and a professional instrument for measuring high voltages.

mega macs X and MT-HV are able to cover all the functions required by hybrid and electric vehicles such as: measurements up to 1,000 V; measurements relating to insulation resistance with adjustable test voltage; measurements on the equipotential bonding of HV components; resistance measurements, for example on the HV service connector.

MT-HV is supplied with cables and probes specially designed for high voltage measurements. The cables have important safety features such as the test start button which must be pressed during measurements. Thanks to its practical dimensions, it is possible to operate it with protective gloves without any problem. Finally, the measuring probes can be easily replaced if necessary and used with specific high voltage adapters for the vehicle manufacturer.

Information on a given vehicle, such as procedures, measurement points and corresponding nominal values ​​are provided by mega macs X after selecting the vehicle in the ‘E-Mobility> Information’ menu item. All measurements and interactions are shown in the mega macs X measurement menu and can be documented with the name of the technician who performed the work, thus certifying the work carried out in compliance with current regulations.

Hella Gutmann launched the mega macs X multi-brand diagnosis tool at the end of 2021 to offer an extremely flexible solution. It contains features and licenses that can be configured according to the needs of the workshop. It can customise the configuration of its diagnostic, deciding which functional modules and types of data it will need at a given moment and which display device to use to use the diagnosis. The mega macs X consists of the diagnosis module that houses the instrument’s entire intelligence – the processor, diagnosis software and the technology for data transfer and the OBD interface cable to the vehicle, the latter equipped with LED light. integrated. The workshop can choose a tablet, a notebook, a PC or the resistant tablet by Hella Gutmann as the viewer. It is therefore no longer necessary to carry around a bulky diagnostic tool and, should the display device become damaged, simply connect another one, since the settings and the vehicle history are not lost.
