Hankook’s Vantra range offers efficiency, safety and exceptional durability for light commercials
Whether you drive a single van, or manage a whole fleet, having the correct tyres is essential for ensuring safety and performance. Tyre manufacturer Hankook acknowledges that the tyres fitted to UK vans need to be able to cope with the additional weight and withstand the strain of stop-start urban trips as well as longer journeys. Its portfolio for the van and light truck category includes the Vantra LT, an energy efficient, safe and exceptionally durable summer tyre and the Vantra ST AS 2, the most recent addition to the range, a durable, multi-performance, all-season tyre.
This light truck tyre was developed in view of the high demands that are placed on passenger and goods transport vehicles in regional traffic. Durability, fuel efficiency and mileage played a key role during development as well as safety-related driving characteristics such as short breaking distances and superior wet performance. Hankook Vantra LT’s footprint is designed to improve durability by applying square shape contact patch technology that allows for an optimised groove position, increasing stability in the outer grounding footprint area. In combination with the tyre’s reinforced belt structure featuring a double steel belt this allows a more even distribution of the ground pressure resulting in the reduction in tyre deformation. In addition, the reduced tyre deformation results in a lowered rolling resistance, resulting in higher fuel efficiency. The tyre’s tread pattern enables fast water dispersion, reducing hydroplaning and guarantees superior performance in wet and even cold weather conditions.
The Vantra ST AS 2, an all-season tyre with the 3PMSF symbol, shows its strengths particularly on road surfaces common in urban areas during the cold season and, with its specially developed “Ice-Philic-Technology”, ensures increased grip even at lower temperatures.
The tyre structures provide impressive endurance and durability, as well as a wide contact area and long sipes which improve grip and handling performance in all conditions, all year round. The groove and shoulder design enable efficient water drainage for those wetter days and,”, the Vantra ST AS 2 benefits from increased grip in all weather conditions. A wide steel belt layer deigned within the tyre ensures that the Vantra ST AS2 has optimal tread stiffness which also helps to improve handling. Moreover, the side of the tyre has a decoration reinforcing its wall to protect against damage when hitting a kerb, which can often happen with vans.
