Davanti Vantoura 4-Seasons offers year-round versatility to van fleets
The Davanti Vantoura 4-Seasons is available in a range of light commercial vehicle fitments now, after the tyre received its public unveiling at the CV Show in 2021. The tyre is the UK tyre brand’s answer for transport operators looking for ways to ensure their fleets remain on the road and are as economical as possible. Davanti notes that the rising cost of living, and particularly fuel prices are making proper fleet maintenance even more important. One aspect that can help is checking tyres are fit for purpose. Selecting the right tyre, for the right van, for the right application, is one way to improve efficiency and reliability of commercial vehicles. With a vast range of options available to van fleets, Davanti says it is important to address the requirement of fit-for-purpose commercial tyres. Its Vantoura 4-Seasons represents the brand’s versatile solution for the segment.
The tyre is the brand’s first dedicated on-road, all-season product offering summer and winter tyre characteristics to keep vans on the road throughout the year. Davanti says the tyre has already become a popular and safe choice for light commercial vehicle users.
“Vantoura 4-Seasons offers enhanced all round safety features plus reduced waste by eliminating unnecessary tyre changes, giving real economic benefit to the light commercial industry,” says Sean Maddocks, sales director for the UK and Ireland at Davanti Tyres.
The Vantoura 4-Seasons is a versatile tyre engineered to offer high levels of all-season performance. Davanti has spent years developing its ultimate all-season van tyre, during which time it has been proven in the icy wilds of the Arctic Circle at Test World in Finland to the heat of Davanti’s European Development Centre at Applus IDIADA. Its purpose has been to create a reliable, durable, year-round van tyre which can improve fleet efficiency for transport operators. This economical advantage is key in the highly competitive environment in which last-mile logistics operators do business.
Vantoura 4-Seasons features
Key design features of the Vantoura 4-Seasons which allow it to handle bitter frost as well as torrid heat so you can rely on it no matter the weather include:
- Outer block section: Solid shoulder blocks are designed to deliver a stable drive and endurance even under heavy load, whilst also making the tyre rugged and resistant to damage. The deep outer grooves enable enhanced water evacuation and mechanical snow traction throughout all points of treadwear.
- Longitudinal Grooves: Three deep longitudinal grooves cut through standing water and provide the driver with safe and dependable handling on wet surfaces. The rapid water evacuation delivered by these grooves makes the tyre highly resistant to aquaplaning.
- Sawtooth Sipes: An array of sawtooth sipes cut through the main block sections and are engineered to actively bite into icy surfaces. Working in harmony with the specially formulated all-season compound, this feature is critical in ensuring the tyre provides traction on the most challenging surfaces.
Davanti targets the Vantoura 4-Seasons at a range of operators, from single operators to large fleets, and vehicle types, either short or long wheel base vehicles. The tyre is available in 11 fitments between 15” and 16”, with more planned for later this year.
DX440 proves electric van readiness with LEVC fitment
Davanti adds that its wider range targeting the van market takes into account the transition from internal combustion to electric vans and the tyre solution transport operators will require. Davanti’s DX440 light commercial van tyre is a good example of this kind of solution for fleets making the power train transition. The DX440 offers an all-purpose tyre solution; it is both a popular choice for delivery drivers and tradesmen driving traditional ICE vans, and the 100 per cent OE tyre for the electric VN5 van from LEVC. As legislation and public opinion drive the popularity of electric vans, the DX440 is well-placed to offer a suitable fitment, Davanti says.
“Electric vehicles have a greater load with differing weight distribution to the traditional commercial van. However, the DX440 was always designed to be versatile and extensive testing highlights it maintains the quality and reliable performance transport operators need,” adds Sean Maddocks.
