More hours & traction: Vredestein Traxion 70

Key wear resistance qualities previously found on the Vredestein Traxion+ now feature in the Traxion 70 thanks to a complete renewal of the brand’s 70-series line-up. Apollo Tyres released the first dimensions in the new 15 size, 25 SKU range this month; all are available in the aftermarket, and a number of tractor manufacturers will also fit Traxion 70 as original equipment.

Vredestein Traxion 70 is targeted at tractors between 70 and 200hp. Its launch follows that of the Traxion+ and Apollo Tyres could thus redesign the range “using the latest technology and knowledge available” within the company. It drew upon beneficial characteristics that have “comprehensively proven themselves in practice,” such as long life, comfort and traction.

The new Vredestein Traxion 70 features the proven Traxion format of curved lugs and a large contact area in the middle of the tread. Together with a unique compound, this results in a lifespan that Apollo Tyres says is longer than that of the premium competitors.

The Vredestein curved lug is almost perpendicular to the direction of travel, and Apollo Tyres reports that this configuration gives Traxion 70 “an impressive pulling power.” Furthermore, it shares that as the distance increases from the centre to the side between the lugs, the tyre’s self-cleaning ability is “outstanding, especially on heavy soils.” This ensures the tyre maintains traction and reduces the amount of mud left behind on the road.
