Lin Junying becomes general manager of Nankang Rubber Tire
Nankang Rubber Tire Corp. Ltd. has announced that it has completed the re-election of directors and appointed Lin Junying as its general manager. According to Taiwan media reports, Lin Junying is the eldest daughter of Lin Xuepu, the deceased honorary chairman of Nankang and also an amateur racing driver.
According to the announcement, Guo Linliang will continue to serve as the chairman of Nankang. The former vice-chairman Zhao Guoshuai resigned as his term of office had expired. The tyre maker said it would not elect a new vice-chairperson for the time being.
After the re-election, Nankang’s board has six directors from two holding companies. Among them, Guo Linliang, Lin Junying, Chen Hengkuan and Huang Jiaying are the representatives of Quan Ye Investment. Hou Jiaqi and Huang Mingyou represented Chongshen Development. It is reported that the Lin Xuepu family is behind the Quan Ye Investment, while the Chongshen Development belongs to the Hou Xifeng family. Hou Xifeng is the head of the Kuo Yang Group, and Hou Jiaqi, who joined the board of directors this time, is his second daughter. Some Taiwanese media commented that after the re-election of directors was completed, Nankang officially entered the era of co-governance between the Lin family and the Hou family.
Nankang Tire was established in 1959 and is a large tyre manufacturer in Taiwan, China. In 2021, the tyre company sold 12.062 million tyres of various types, with an operating income of NT$8.078 billion (about £220 million). However, the company’s net profit after tax was -243 million Taiwan dollars (about £6.61 million pounds), in other words a loss.
